The EQUITAS Rule of Law Certification Program

Equitas Health partners with trusted LGBTQ+ advocates to provide monthly virtual legal clinics on name and gender marker change. There is currently a waitlist for these sessions.

KU Law offers eight certificate programs, which allow students to hone expertise in a specific area of law. These programs also provide a solid foundation for the practice of law.

The Rule of Law Certification Program

Barrister Sayed Ul Haque Dinar (or “Dinar Sir” as his students call him) is a distinguished law tutor. He has helped thousands of students in Bangladesh to achieve their objectives and aspirations in their University of London LLB studies. He has also taught several University of Cambridge LLM courses.

The program will allow 20 Ukrainian legal professionals to gain a complex understanding of rule of law issues in Ukraine. The program will consist of two training sessions and a capstone project that applies conceptual understanding to real justice sector challenges in Ukraine. It is jointly run by Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University and the Rule of Law Collaborative.

The Canadian based NGO advances equality, social justice and respect for human dignity through transformative human rights education programs. These include an annual three-week participatory training session on human rights education for human rights workers and educators. It also produces and distributes research papers on international human rights procedures with an African focus.

The EQUITAS Rule of Law Certification Examination

During the time of turmoil in the Lloyd’s market, many syndicates faced insolvency. To avoid this, Equitas was created as a new company based in the UK, with assets sufficient to pay all of its liabilities.

Using the tools from Equitas’ IHRTP training, Ahmed and his colleagues set up mobile legal clinics in villages across their country. They also train Justice Animators to educate communities about their rights. They also facilitate workshops and talks for women’s groups, radio shows and schools.

The EQUITAS Rule of Law Examination Preparation Guide

The library has a large collection of study aids for both essay and multiple choice exam preparation, including the "Understanding" series and the "Questions & Answers" series. These materials are generally subject specific. It is very important to practice answering multiple choice questions slowly and methodically. This will help you internalize the best way to approach multiple-choice questions. Also, when you practice answering multiple choice questions, it is a good idea to dissect each question so that you can identify the legal issue being tested and what rule of law applies to the issue. This will help you to use the IRAC method when answering the exam questions.

The EQUITAS Rule of Law Examination Review

Equitas was established after the turmoil in the Lloyd's marketplace of the late 1980's and early 1990's. At that time, a surge of losses, including U.S. asbestos and pollution losses, threatened the solvency of many syndicates.

In its governing document, the Contract, the Company is required to maintain written compliance policies and procedures reasonably designed to prevent violations of the Advisers Act. Defendants failed to meet the standard in this respect.

The Gisclair order involves alleged violations that occurred at Equitas and Equitas Partners (as well as Crescent, which OCIE examined in 2012-2013). After Gisclair left Equitas and Equitas Partnerships in 2010, he became associated with Crescent.
